Aurora, Neb (February 3, 2014) Hamilton Telecommunications, together with Mid-State Community TV, Inc. is excited to announce a joint collaboration to deliver Cobalt TV, a new, state-of-the-art television service —commercially available March, 2014.

Cobalt TV will feature more than 300 channels, premium picture quality, Whole Home DVR, and many other unique amenities. Utilizing Hamilton’s deep rooted fiber ring and DSL infrastructure, Cobalt TV will deliver a more robust television solution with more options for TV viewing than ever before. Oftentimes referred to as IPTV (Internet Protocol TV), this new service differs from the existing Mid-State TV service, which is currently delivered through Coaxial Cable. Hamilton is among the first companies in Nebraska to be offering this latest technology solution for TV.

“We are excited to deliver this service, which for us has been five years in the making,” said John Nelson, President of Mid-State Community TV, Inc. and Vice President of Hamilton Telecommunications. “This new solution allows us to offer 127 Standard Definition channels, 110 High Definition channels, 52 movie channels and 50 music channels, delivered to the home with the premium clarity allowed by digital transmission. All of this has been done while keeping our prices very competitive with other Cable and Satellite offerings in the area. We are particularly excited that for the first time we will be able to offer television service to all the rural areas surrounding these communities. ”

The service has been made possible through the culmination of a few key, progressive decisions made by Hamilton over the past several years. One key factor that has been critical in delivering this new television service has been Hamilton’s fiber development. Over the past thirty years, Hamilton has been laying fiber across Hamilton County, delivering fiber within three miles from each home — and bringing most homes much closer. Closer access of fiber to each home allows for faster internet speeds, faster connections and greater support for increasing bandwidth needs.

Cobalt TV will initially be made available in March for the communities and rural areas of Aurora, Hampton, Giltner, Hordville, Stockham, Doniphan, Trumbull, and Marquette.
