Hamilton Works to Rebuild Relay Center and Expand Workforce Following January 2nd Storm


February 2, 2017, Aurora, Neb.
— Hamilton Relay, Inc., a national leader in the telecommunications relay and captioned telephone services industry, announced today that it has resumed operations and training classes in Albany, Georgia. After a severe storm demolished Hamilton's relay center, the company and the owner of the center, Carter Properties, immediately established plans to re-build. Re-construction of the center at 2231 Dawson Road is currently underway and expected to be completed by Spring of 2017. In the meantime, Hamilton Relay has secured two temporary locations and has resumed operations in Albany.

Hamilton Telecommunications Announces Scholarship Opportunity


Aurora, Neb, ­– December 15, 2016 Hamilton Telecommunications is excited to announce that it is once again participating in the 2017 Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) annual college scholarship program to help further higher education among rural youth. FRS awards a one-time $2,500 scholarship to students from rural America for their first year of college, university or vocational-technical school. Each student is sponsored by an NTCA member company. FRS funds $2,000 of each scholarship, and the sponsoring company awards the remaining $500. The FRS College Scholarship Program seeks to encourage students to return to their rural communities upon completing their education. Students may also be eligible for one of the following scholarships: four FRS Staurulakis Family Scholarships valued at $5,000 each, two TMS Scholarships for $1,500 each. Students who are majoring in math, science, engineering, or medicine are given preference for the FRS Staurulakis Family Scholarship and one Everett Kneece Return to Rural America Scholarship valued at $7,000.

Applications are available for download on the Foundation for Rural Service website: www.frs.org , or may be available through the local high school guidance counselors. Students may return applications through their school guidance counselor or to Hamilton. Applications may be mailed or hand delivered (no faxes or e-mails) and must be delivered to Hamilton Telecommunications by February 24, 2017.

Hamilton Relay Awarded Third Consecutive Contract to Provide Relay and Captioned Telephone (CapTel®) Service in Georgia

– The Georgia Public Service Commission awarded Hamilton Relay a third consecutive contract to provide Telecommunications Relay and Captioned Telephone Services for the state of Georgia. The new contract went into effect on April 1, 2016 following a competitive procurement process.

Hamilton Expands Technology Infrastructure and Capabilities with Metaswitch

Hamilton Telecommunications today announced that it has installed a new softswitch, the Metaswitch VP6010 Integrated Softswitch, replacing its previous Lucent Digital 5ESS Switch. The recent installation allows the company to offer new residential and business calling feature services available in its local telephone exchange. Hamilton Telecommunications offers a full range of residential and business voice services and will be adding greater capabilities, including customer management of features through a web portal, to complement its robust telecommunications and broadband DSL Internet service offerings.
